MISSOULA, Mont. – Michigan author Betty Sodders has re-released Michigan Prehistory Mysteries as an electronic book, which was first published as a print book in 1990.

Michigan Prehistory Mysteries is a valuable and unique contribution to the study of prehistory in the United States. For anyone interested in prehistory, it is a “must!” Why? Because nowhere else is it possible for serious researchers to find factual, detailed information about the land and the people as they were before the advent of modern European colonists. For it is a fact that sites and artifacts have been eroded and lost through casual handling during the years when the academic society was turning a blind eye to reality.

“Ms. Sodders gives the most thorough story and analysis we’ve seen of a set of three clay statues found near Newberry [Michigan], known as the ‘McGruer’s Gods,’ said C. Fred Rydhom, reviewer of Michigan Prehistory Mysteries. “While the author says she would like to see these remain as mysteries, she does a good job of unveiling many clues and secrets that afford a clear picture of the theory that travelers from far off places spent considerable time in what is now Michigan thousands of years ago.”

Author Betty Sodders enjoys her 33rd year as a freelance, outdoor writer who likes delving into prehistory, nature, hunting and fishing sports, and animal studies. Michigan Prehistory Mysteries is available for $9.99 at Amazon.com’s Kindle store, at BN.com as a Nook book, and at www.FiveValleysPress.com.

TAVERNIER, FLA. – Legendary Keys Fishing Guide, holder of more than 40 Saltwater Fly-Rod and light tackle World Records and Author of Stu Apte’s memoir, Of Wind and Tides, is now available as an e-book.

Of Wind and Tides was first released as a print book, a hardcover and paperback, in December 2008, but is now available as a Kindle edition at Amazon.com. Apte’s autobiography is also for sale as a Nook Book at Barnes and Noble.com, and also at Five Valleys Press.

Stu’s autobiography takes the reader around the world and back, from the coasts of Costa Rica and Panama for Pacific sailfish, to the rivers of Iceland and Russia for Atlantic salmon, Stu has fished every continent except Antarctica—but always returning to his favorite Florida Keys’ flats for tarpon.

Aside from being an ex-Naval Aviator and retired Pan American 747 Captain, Stu’s angling expertise has translated into filming many TV Segments for ABC’s “American Sportsman”—fishing side-by-side with Chicago Bears’ linebacker, Dick Butkus, Boston Red Sox left-fielder and former Islamorada resident, Ted Williams (with whom Stu shared a 40-year fishing friendship), Boston Celtics’ all-time point-leader, John Havlicek, and of course the voice of ABC’s American Sportsman, Curt Gowdy. And if you think it would be exciting to read about when Stu took President Harry Truman out to the Content Keys on his 15-foot skiff to reel in some bonefish, or when he caught General “Stormin” Norman Schwarzkopf his first tarpon ever, wait until you read about the time Ernest Hemingway showed Stu how to prepare a Mojito on his boat the Pilar on the docks of Havana Yacht Club!
